Judith Schalansky (born 20 September 1980, in Greifswald) is a German writer, book designer and publisher. Her book Atlas of Remote Islands won first prize in the Stiftung Buchkunst's The Most Beautiful German Books competition (German: Die schönsten deutschen Bücher) in 2009. In 2012, she won the same prize for The Giraffe’s Neck.

Judith Schalansky föddes i Greifswald i dåvarande Östtyskland 1980. She is the author of four books, including the highly acclaimed tribute to blackletter fonts Fraktur Mon Amour and, most recently, the novel The Giraffe's Neck. Schalansky is also a freelance designer and teaches courses in typography at Berlin's Potsdam Technical Institute. Judith Schalansky studied Art History at the FU Berlin and Communication Design at the Fachhochschule Potsdam. After finishing her studies in 2007 she taught Typographic Basics at the Fachhochschule Potsdam until 2009. Her first publication was the typographic compendium Fraktur mon Amour.
